She is quoted as saying, "I don't get out of bed for less than $10,000 a day." Often sporting a boyish haircut in various hues (blonde, red, or brown), Canadian supermodel Linda Evangelista was born May 10, 1965, in St. Catherine's, Ontario. She is considered one of the five "original" supermodels, along with Claudia Schiffer, Cindy Crawford, Christy Turlington, and Naomi Campbell.

Raised by a working class Italian family, the 5'9" Evangelista knew she wanted to be a model when she was just 12 years old. When she was 15, a modeling scout noticed her in the Miss Teen Niagara Contest. She later signed up with the Elite Model Agency in New York City before moving to Paris to develop her career.

In the early 1990s, Evangelista dominated the fashion scene along with fellow catwalkers Turlington and Campbell. Evangelista has appeared in advertisements for companies such as American Express, Anne Klein, Bloomingdale's, Calvin Klein, Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, and Gianni Versace. Magazine covers include Cosmopolitan, Vogue, Allure, and Harper's Bazaar. The model has also appeared in two George Michael music videos (Freedom 90 and Too Funky).

There is more to this model's life than just posing for pictures. She spends some of her free time raising awareness for breast cancer research in memory of her grandmother and family friend who suffered from the disease. Evangelista also enjoys playing poker and playing the accordion. The model was once linked to actor Kyle MacLachlan and was married to Gerald Marie, the former head of Elite Paris.
