Tom Hiddleston Sends Joss Whedon A 'Transatlantic Fist Bump' With Sincere Email 'Thank You' Note

July 31st, 2014 10:17am EDT
Hiddleston & Whedon
Images have emerged on Reddit of an email correspondence between British actor Tom Hiddleston and director Joss Whedon.

The email is a 'thank you' from Hiddleston, who sent it to Whedon after reading over the entire 'The Avengers' script. Evidently, Hiddleston was absolutely thrilled by the way Whedon wrote Loki, so much so that it prompted an excited response from God of mischief himself.

His praise was highly British, writing "It's high operatic villainy... it's grand and epic and majestic and poetic and lyrical and wicked and rich and badass and might possibly be the most gloriously f...

Director Joss Whedon and the producers of The Avengers: Age of Ultron are working on a plan to keep Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow from having a baby bump.

It was reported yesterday Johansson was pregnant with her first child with fiancé Romain Dauriac, and some outlets claimed Scarlett could be five months pregnant. That bit of news could be a problem for the svelte and cat suit-wearing Black Widow.

If Johansson has been pregnant for this long, it's possible she let producers know some time ago and a contingency plan is already in place. A source has told E! the studio will fast-track ...

Welcome to day two of 2014! Looking back in time 50 years ago, the year was 1964. Major events of that year included President Johnson being re-elected by a landslide over Barry Goldwater. In the civil rights movement, three workers were murdered in Mississippi during the "Freedom Summer," and Anchorage, Alaska was hit by a massive earthquake.

'Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.': The Best New Show Of The Fall Season

September 25th, 2013 9:57am EDT
Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Today is good: a Joss Whedon series is back in primetime.

Unlike his last two series, Firefly and Dollhouse, no reports of the network ordering a re-shot pilot hit the Deadlines and TVLines of the internet. Joss Whedon directed one of the biggest movies of all-time (2012's The Avengers); now, he pretty much runs Marvel Studios. He polishes Captain America and Thor and oversees the biggest brand of Marvel right now--The Avengers. Critics and bloggers didn't doubt Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. would get ordered to series. Critics and bloggers wondered when they'd get to watch the first episode. Jos...

Avengers 2 may not grace our movie screens until 2015, but sci-fi master Joss Whedon is keeping busy – at least on the small screen with Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Aside from being of the most anticipated pilots of the season, the series focuses on a special group of skilled individuals who come together and work to keep the world safe while the superheros are fighting to save the day.

So what can we expect? We were lucky enough to have the opportunity at Comic Con to sit down with the master himself for a brief interview. Watch the full interview below for Whedon’s thoughts on what f...

Scattered Thoughts About Joss Whedon's 'Much Ado About Nothing'

Joss Whedon
I watched Joss Whedon's Much Ado About Nothing over a week ago and didn't write a review, so I wrote scattered thoughts about it instead because I admire both Joss and William Shakespeare.

-The story about Joss Whedon's Much Ado About Nothing production can found anywhere on the internet. Whedon got his friends together, some cameras, and filmed a wonderful adaptation of one of William Shakespeare's better comedies. Kenneth Branagh's adaptation of Much Ado About Nothing stood as thee adaptation of the play, in my opinion. His Benedick and Emma Thompson's Beatrice are wonderfully portrayed;...

Joss Whedon's Much Ado About Nothing, starring his friends, opens in select cities today. Whedon's Sunday afternoon Shakespeare readings have been going on since the days of Buffy. Various actors gathered at the Whedon home to read various Shakespeare plays, which must've been delightful. Now that Joss has adapted a play with his friends for the cinema, what's stopping him, besides an insanely busy schedule that includes a TV series, comics, keeping an eye on various Marvel projects, and that little Avengers sequel, from directing stage productions of Shakespeare twice a year? He can get hi...

On the one hand I applaud the attempt by both co-writers Drew Goddard and Joss Whedon to reinvigorate the horror genre by mocking certain conventions and creating all new ones. But in its wry attempt to be a step ahead of typical slice and dice fare, "The Cabin In The Woods" at times comes off as too clever and as a result never feels like its letting the audience in on the joke.

The set up is pure "Evil Dead" cabin retro, with four young and naïve kids heading out to an isolated log hut to do a little partying. The initial addition is in the form of a gang of suit and tie desk jockeys w...
