Rosie O'Donnell has blasted president Barack Obama's decision to appear on "The View," insisting the magazine program is too "fluffy" for a world leader.

Obama became the first sitting American president to guest on a daytime talk show when the pre-taped interview aired on Thursday, in which he discussed his family, politics and pop culture with the panel of female presenters, including Whoopi Goldberg and veteran newswoman Barbara Walters.

Veteran newswoman Barbara Walters is recovering "well" following heart surgery.

The 80 year old underwent surgery this week to replace a faulty heart valve, after announcing news of her condition on TV talk show The View on Monday.

A rep for the star has now confirmed the operation was a success and Walters is recovering.

A statement, released to the New York Daily News, reads, "(She is) recovering as expected. (Her) surgery went well and the doctors are very pleased with the outcome."

NEW YORK (AP) — ABC says glam-rocker Adam Lambert will appear and perform on its daytime talk show "The View" on Thursday.

The announcement comes almost two weeks after Lambert's racy performance on ABC's broadcast of "The American Music Awards." That led to Lambert getting axed from an appearance on the network's "Good Morning America."

Since then, Lambert, who is openly gay, complained of being dropped from two other upcoming ABC shows.

In the meantime, he has been scheduled for NBC's "The Jay Leno Show" on Dec. 21.

In an interview with Barbara Walters for "20/20," O'Neal talks about his longtime companion. The couple have been together since 1980.

According to The New York Daily News, a show spokesman said, "Barbara Walters and Bill Geddie, executive producers of 'The View,' don't think it's appropriate to wear T-shirts endorsing either candidate but would never forbid any of the co-hosts from expressing themselves."

ABC has been unable to come to a contractual agreement with Rosie O'Donnell. As a result, her hosting duties on The View will end in mid-June. "They wanted me three years, I wanted one year, and it just didn't work," said O'Donnell on today's show.
