Colin Powell Ready To Endorse Barack Obama?

Now that all the celebrities have come out of the woodwork to endorse Barack Obama it seems that a more credible source of Colin Powell, former Secretary of State in the George W. Bush administration, may be coming out in support of Obama, says the Huffington Post today.

Oliver Stone's filmmaking skills have come under question after a series of noted movie critics were left unimpressed by his eagerly anticipated George W. Bush biopic, W.

The JFK moviemaker rushed to shoot and edit the film so it could open in cinemas throughout the U.S. before the forthcoming presidential elections in November. And some of the industry's most respected film critics have taken aim at Stone for doing so - with one writer claiming the quality of the rush job is no better than a made-for-TV movie.

Josh Brolin, Others Arrested In Bar Brawl

SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) - Actors Josh Brolin and Jeffrey Wright, along with members of a crew filming an Oliver Stone movie, were arrested during a bar fight Saturday morning, police said.

Shreveport police Sgt. Willie Lewis said Brolin, Wright and five others were arrested just after 2 a.m. at a club called the Stray Cat bar.

A call to deal with a rowdy patron drew interference from other patrons, Lewis said.

A galaxy of celebrities including Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Snoop Dogg, Paris Hilton, Eminem, 50 Cent and Oprah Winfrey have been subpoenaed to appear at a racial profiling trial in Detroit, Michigan.

In a lawsuit filed on Tuesday, MurderCap Records boss Jerome Almon accuses Canadian officials of holding black rappers at the U.S./Canada border because they blame the musicians for both increased gang activity and gun violence in Toronto and Vancouver.

Tony Bennett To Receive United Nations Humanitarian Award

Veteran singer Tony Bennett is to be honored with the United Nations' 2007 Humanitarian Award in Washington later this year. The ailing star, who has today been forced to cancel further concerts in the U.S. due to a bout of flu, has been a long-standing campaigner for U.N. activities, and most recently fronted a fundraising event to help victims of the violence in Dafur, Sudan.

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees will present Bennett, 80, with the award on June 20.
