Kristen Chenoweth was adopted by a family in Oklahoma when she was five days old.

The singer/actress is a strong advocate for adoption and told Pop Tarts in 2010: “It always goes back to my parents who adopted me, who gave me unconditional love and self-esteem. I don’t think I’d be where I am without them.”

Thousands gathered to bid a final farewell to Nelson Mandela as he was laid to rest Sunday. Stars including Oprah Winfrey, Forest Whitaker, and Prince Charles were among were among the thousands of mourners in attendance.

Altogether, 4,500 guests gathered in the village of Qunu, South Africa to remember the country's former president, who passed away on  December 5 from a lung infection.
 
Mandela's family and friends congregated with global leaders and celebrities around the civil rights icon's casket during the service, which was held in a marquee in his ancestral village.

Former South African president Nelson Mandela, 94, is fighting for his life after being downgraded from serious-but-stable condition to critical condition over the weekend.

The humanitarian leader was hospitalized on June 8 for a lung infection and his health took a turn for the worse on Saturday.

South African leader Jacob Zuma said in a statement that doctors are doing "everything possible" to keep Mandela alive.
