Charlie Sheen Leads A Long List Of Celebs Taking The Ice Bucket
If you haven't yet heard about the "ice bucket challenge" going on to benefit ALS, then chances are you've been living under a rock for the last two weeks.

The social media craze, which actually began months ago (more on that later), has been sweeping the nation all in the name of raising money and awareness about Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), better known as Lou Gehrig's Disease.

The challenge is simple: someone "nominates" you and two others to take the challenge next and then dumps about a five-gallon bucked of ice water over their own head. Those nominated can either accept the...

Lindsay Lohan
Just in case you haven't heard the recent news (or are living under a rock) - everyone's favorite train wreck, Lindsay Lohan, is going to jail. Yesterday in a hearing in Los Angeles, Judge Marsha Revel sentenced Lindsay to serve 90 days in jail for breaching her probation agreement as related to her ongoing case over a drunk driving offense.

Will jail finally be rock bottom for Lohan? Or will she get a repreive after only a few weeks of her sentence - like Paris Hilton did? And time will only tell if she can turn things around for herself. (We're guessing the 'Hooray I'm out of jail' kegge...

Everything Geeky: The Meaning Of 'Geek' & How It's Misconstrued

June 2nd, 2009 1:17pm EDT
A geek on The Big Bang Theory
Welcome to "Everything Geeky," a brand new regular column on Starpulse.com. Now I've been branded a geek my entire life after growing up in a comic book store and focusing more energy on the X-Men than American History.

First and foremost what we all have to realize is one simple truth: we're all geeks. The definition of geek has changed a lot over the years, but these days it seems to be a person who is overly obsessed with a subject or hobby. Now that does traditionally extend to things like computers, fantasy, and sci-fi, but believe it or not, a football fan who obsesses over the ...

'The Hills': A Lo Down Dirty Shame

May 6th, 2008 9:07am EDT
The Hills
Lo, Lo, Lo. Maybe it was because Lo and LC were always up against the delightfully devious Kristin on Laguna Beach, but Lo always seemed as sweet as cinnamon and sugar toast. She was the most precious voice of reason, like having Dr. Phil wrapped up in the persona of petite, southern California beach bunny.

With the advent of "Shifty Lo," however, all sense of nostalgia has gone by the wayside. The theme for this mini-season of The Hills seems to be the constant shifting of alliances between friends and would-be family, but ironically, after all of these wild swings, no relationsh...

'Dancing with the Stars' Fantasy Cast

February 6th, 2008 9:52am EST
Rosie ODonnell
Do you ever watch "Dancing with the Stars" and find yourself wondering who is more famous - the star or the dancer? For every 90's teen drama star we also get a handful of models and singers who aren't so much "stars" as they are "available marginally talented individuals."

I guess part of the fun is realizing that the musical guests are generally more famous than the actual cast. This is why I've decided to create a dream cast list for "Dancing with the Stars." I tried to include a mix of "talent" just as the real show does, along with one or two obscure choices:

Survey Says Workers Wouldn't Swap Boss for Celebrity CEO

October 5th, 2006 10:41am EDT
Oprah Winfrey
A new national poll reveals that Americans would prefer to keep their current boss rather than report to a celebrity CEO. Fifteen percent of respondents would keep their current boss over Bill Gates (13 percent), Oprah Winfrey (12 percent) and President George W. Bush (7 percent).

Donald Trump and Martha Stewart squeaked in with 2 percent of the vote, and Michael Scott – the hilariously inept honcho on NBC's The Office -- claimed a measly one percent.

The majority, 38 percent, would like to boss themselves around -- giving voice to their inner entrepreneur.

Oprah Winfrey One of The Richest Women on Forbes' Rich List

March 14th, 2006 9:38am EST
Oprah Winfrey
Oprah Winfrey is one of the richest women in America. The talk show queen - who made $100 million last year - is now worth $1.4 billion. However, Oprah only comes 562nd on the Forbes magazine rich list. Fellow media mogul, Martha Stewart's personal fortune fell from $1 billion to just $500,000. As a result the domestic-goddess-turned-TV-host dropped off the list just one year after qualifying.

Elsewhere, Microsoft founder Bill Gates held on to his position as the world's wealthiest man for the 12th year running - his net worth rose from $46.5 billion last year to an all-time high of $5...
