Disney And James Cameron Reveal Artist Renderings For Animal Kingdom's 'Avatar Land'

The planet Pandora, from James Cameron's epic science-fiction film Avatar, is heading to Disney's Animal Kingdom in the form of a new theme park attraction.

The first news of the collaboration between Cameron's Lightstorm Entertainment production company and Walt Disney Imagineering was released last month, and over the weekend the filmmaker joined Disney's Tom Staggs and Joe Rohde to show off some concept renderings of the new theme park attraction while at Disney's biennial D23 Expo in Japan.

'Avatar' Plagiarism Lawsuit Against James Cameron Dismissed

On Wednesday, a lawsuit filed against director James Cameron was dismissed by a Los Angeles judge.

A former Lightstorm Entertainment employee, Eric Ryder sued Cameron in 2011 alleging the storyline for the filmmaker's hit 3D movie Avatar was copied from his 1999 story K.R.Z. 2068. K.R.Z. 2068 is described as an "environmentally-themed 3-D epic about a corporation's colonization and plundering of a distant moon's lush and wondrous natural setting".

While the plots are similar, a judge ruled in Cameron's favor, stating, "There is no evidence James Cameron did not create Avatar in 1996.'' ...

There's a big rumor via Latino Review claiming Arnold will star as in the villain in the sequel to the blockbuster Avatar. Moviemaker James Cameron has revealed that he's now planning three sequels to sci-fi blockbuster Avatar.

The director, who previously had only two sequels planned, revealed that he's hired screenwriters Josh Friedman (War Of The Worlds) to assist him with the first sequel's screenplay, Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) to help write the second and Shane Salerno (Alien vs. Predator 2) to co-pen the third.

Cameron also revealed that he plans on shooting all three sequels simultaneously starting next year, according to Deadline.com.

Moviemaker James Cameron is donating the craft he used for a deep sea diving project to a research group.

The Titanic director invested around $10 million of his own cash to fund the Deepsea Challenger submersible system, which helped him dive seven miles underwater to the world's deepest point, the Mariana Trench of the Pacific Ocean, southwest of Guam, in March last year.

A judge has thrown out a copyright lawsuit against Avatar director James Cameron.

Gerald Morawski alleged he gave the filmmaker the idea for his blockbuster about a native tribe clashing with a mining company, insisting he even sold him art concepts that were incorporated into the 2009 movie, which grossed $2.7 billion at the global box office.

James Cameron has asked a judge to dismiss a $2.5 billion lawsuit filed by a man who alleges the director stole his idea for Avatar.

The new 3D Titanic movie has broken opening day box office records in China.

The reformatted disaster movie has already sailed to the top of film charts around the world and Chinese fans really couldn't wait to see the James Cameron epic.

They raced to cinemas on Tuesday to give the new version of the 1997 film the biggest opening day in the nation's history.

The film, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, sold $11.6 million - roughly a quarter of what the original grossed in China during its entire theatrical run in 180 theaters.

Elijah Schkeiban claims he created a fantasy franchise, called Bats & Butterflies, in 1988 - and it closely resembles Cameron's 2010 blockbuster.
