GWB, leader of the most informed nation not knowing the difference between Australia and Austria - how disappointing. Despite that, Aussies are very considerate people, GWB got a polite applause. . Talk about GWB's mental presence. He exited the wrong way, and but for the SS, he avoided a very embarrassing fall. . If Yale failed to give a lesson in Geography, at the very least, MBA @ Harvard, he should be familiar with world economies. Australia is in South East Asia, western capitalist; Austria is in Central Europe, EU socialist economy. Geography and Economics for Idiots ? . GWB was denied admission at U of Texas, but readily accepted at Yale & Harvard. How disappointing was his intellectual performance. Seriously, is GWB, a bonafide product of Yale & Harvard ? . Admission based on scholastic merit, or Legacy ? . In a related news a few weeks ago, Ms. NC was asked why Americans lack the basic knowledge of the world. Her answer was so painful and mortifying. . The quick answer is: Low expectation. We do not demand a level of competency from our President, our leaders and our citizens on world affairs. . Many questions remain - Despite impressive resume, is GWB a well-informed leader of the world ? . You tell me. | ||

Many had raised questions as to GWB's scholastic credentials, as well as his mental acuity. . GWB's official bio - Yale undergrad; MBA @ Harvard. Quite impressive.... at least in paper. . These admissions, and "earned" degrees have been the subject of controversies. Scholastic achievements or Legacy ? I don't know. But, I have an idea. . Here is a glimpse. . GWB was in Sidney, Australia to address APEC - Asian Pacific Economic Conference. He incorrectly addressed the participants as OPEC - Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, or the "Cartel". In his effort to correct that mistake, he tells the audience he just received an invitation to attend OPEC conference, thus he confused OPEC as APEC. What's the difference ? Plenty. . OPEC, is an "only-member club", neither USA or Australia are members. Notable are members, Iran's Ayatollah Ali-Hossein, Head of State, Pres. Mahmoud Ahmadinejah and Hugo Chavez, Pres. of Venezuela - all GWB's arch enemies. An invitation to GWB ? Unlikely, or maybe, when hell freezes over ! . Worse, GWB thanks Australia for sending "Austrian Troops" in Iraq. This is not the first and only time he "confused" Austria as Australia. GWB suggested changing the names, they sound the same. Yes, GWB was confused. . Australia's news papers headlined this regrettable error. Its citizens are called Australians, or affectionately as Aussies; that Austria is not a nickname for Australia. | ||
