| I have been familiar with the music of Joe Zawinul since the early '70s when I heard him on Miles Davis' "X@@##! Brew" for the 1st time. I fell in love with his keyboard playing style then, but I really became hooked when he and Wayne Shorter founded Weather Report. I had the opportunity to see them when I was 18 at the legendary Mississippi River Festival outdoor amphitheater at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in 1973. | ||
