Imprisoned rapper Young Buck has spoken out to assure fans he is doing well behind bars, one month after beginning his sentence at a prison in Mississippi.

The former G-Unit band member, real name David Darnell Brown, was sentenced to 18 months behind bars for gun possession in July and he began his prison term on August 6.

Now the embattled star, who is staying at the Yazoo City Low Security Prison in Southern Mississippi, insists he is in good spirits and making the most of a difficult situation.

Embattled rapper Young Buck has checked into prison to begin an 18-month sentence for gun possession.

The former G-Unit bandmember was arrested in 2010 after authorities discovered the weapon during a raid on his Tennessee home during a raid to repossess his belongings as part of a financial dispute over more than $300,000 in unpaid taxes.

The star, a convicted felon who is banned from owning a weapon, faced up to 10 years behind bars for the offense, but he reached a plea deal with prosecutors - and agreed to serve less than two years in prison.

Bankrupt rapper Young Buck has been ordered to vacate his Tennessee mansion.

According to TMZ.com, the former G-Unit rapper, who filed for bankruptcy in 2010, was recently ordered to pay more than $300,000 in unpaid taxes by the Internal Revenue Service and was told to leave his 5,000-square foot home by May 16th.

Exact details surrounding the eviction are unknown but court documents from the star's bankruptcy case show the judge ordered the sale of the property in a bid to pay off total debts of $333,975.

A female friend of embattled rapper Young Buck has been injured after the star's car was peppered with bullets during a drive-by shooting early on Sunday morning.

50 Cent's former G-Unit bandmate, real name David Brown, was driving in Nashville, Tennessee when an unidentified gunman passed by in a white Chevrolet and opened fire on Buck's SUV, hitting it 11 times.

The woman suffered a bullet wound to the shoulder and was admitted to Vanderbilt Hospital for treatment. She has since been released.
