Mario Mims (born May 19, 1980), better known by his stage name Yo Gotti, is a southern rapper from the northern side of Memphis, Tennessee who was previously known as Lil Yo.

Gotti gained his first success with his studio albums "From Da Dope Game 2 Da Rap Game" and "Self-Explanatory." However his third album, "Life," had a lot more success, especially in Memphis. His single "Dirty South Soldiers" (featuring Lil Jon) propelled Gotti into the higher ranks of Memphis rappers. Afterwards Yo Gotti had his major label debut in "Back 2 da Basics." Gotti dropped 3 different singles from this album. Including "That's What's Up", "Full Time", and "Gangsta Party" (featuring 8Ball and Bun B). Gotti credits his musical influences as N.W.A, Dr. Dre and Tupac Shakur.
