Top 12 Memorable Moments From 'The Voice'

2/5/2012 9:00am EST
The Voice
NBC's The Voice starts its highly-anticipated second season tonight. In its honor, here's a look back at the top 12 most memorable moments from the show so far!

There were a lot of moments to love from season one. Each of the show's thirty-two artists had at least one instance where we took notice of them, whether it was Elenowen confusing coach Adam Levine by being more than one person, or Nakia bringing the house down with his rendition of "Whataya Want From Me."

And that was just the stuff you saw on TV. From the artists to the coaches to the crew, these were the best people I've eve...

Brittany's 'The Voice' Blog: Catching Up With Season 1

1/3/2012 11:00am EST
The Voice
Here's the latest on and around NBC's The Voice: I look back on what each team from Season 1 accomplished after the show. Who had the best 2010?

What happened after The Voice ended? We know that the Top 8 artists went on a national tour and that a CD of highlights was released. The majority of the artists continued to actively perform across the country, and the coaches kept themselves busy with touring, new albums and Grammy nominations.

Behind the scenes, Christina Milian replaced Alison Haislip as the show's social media correspondent, and teams were expanded from 8 to 12 artists for...

Brittany's 'The Voice' Blog: 'Sing You Home' For The Holidays!

12/20/2011 11:00am EST
The Voice
Here's the latest on and around NBC's The Voice: Team Blake's Xenia releases Sing You Home, while Adam Levine and Cee Lo Green have something to say about the postal service...

Xenia has a new EP just in time for the holidays. Sing You Home contains four new songs from the Team Blake semifinalist. You can download the EP here.

While the record may be short, it's an outstanding sampling that shows how much the 17-year-old has come out of her shell and continues to improve since her time on Team Blake. She sounds miles away from the 'shy girl' whose nerves got the better of her in battle ...

Music Talk: Get To Know Jon McLaughlin

12/15/2011 11:00am EST
Jon McLaughlin
If you only know Jon McLaughlin as the guy who performed the hit song from Disney's Enchanted, you've only scratched the surface.

The Indiana native is thankful for the recognition that the Academy Award-nominated "So Close" brought him, but wants you to know that it's not his whole repertoire. "It hasn't gotten old yet," he says of the association when we meet in San Diego before a recent gig. "The only thing is that it's so different than what I actually do. When there were some people who only knew me from that movie, they would come out to shows expecting a Michael Buble kind of a th...

Brittany's 'The Voice' Blog: Catch Up Before Season 2!

10/25/2011 11:00am EDT
The Voice
Here's the latest on and around NBC's The Voice: now that season 2 has started taping, are you caught up with what's been happening since the end of season 1?

On June 28, Team Adam's Javier Colon was named "The Voice." Here's our profile of season one's winner. Since then, Javier has been busy recording his new (as yet untitled) album, which will arrive in stores on November 21. You can read my interview with him from the day after his victory.

In support of that album, Javier will embark on a tour which begins November 27 in Boston and ends December 18 in Orlando. See the rest of his t...

Brittany's 'The Voice' Blog: Catching Up With...Jeff Jenkins

10/18/2011 11:15am EDT
The Voice
Here's the latest on and around NBC's The Voice: I shine the spotlight on Jeff Jenkins, the singer who brought the heart to Team Adam.

All the artists from season one were great people, but Jeff in particular was somebody you couldn't help but love. He was always so warm and approachable, with a positive attitude in any circumstance, and yet that mischievious side that threw host Carson Daly off at least once (you know the moment). He personified the phrase "happy to be here," because he was - and that was something I felt when I was around him.

Jeff was also possessed of some seriously...

Brittany's 'The Voice' Blog: Catching Up With...Rebecca Loebe

9/13/2011 10:00am EDT
The Voice
Here's the latest on and around NBC's The Voice: we shine the spotlight on folk singer Rebecca Loebe from Team Adam, who's not just a talented singer, but a true down to earth individual, who keeps in touch with herself and her fans no matter where music takes her.

Rebecca won over coach Adam Levine with her haunting rendition of Nirvana's "Come As You Are," and in the battle rounds, she teamed with medical student Devon Barley to deliver a fantastic version of Radiohead's "Creep." Though her journey on the show ended there, her career in music is still moving full speed ahead. R...

CD Review: 'The Voice' Season 1 Highlights

8/12/2011 8:00am EDT
The Voice
I've made no secret of my passion for NBC's The Voice. Handing me the new season 1 compilation album? Somewhat like an early Christmas present. On the music alone, it's a wonderful album, but whether or not you're interested in it will vary greatly, depending on how familiar you are with the show.

Thanks to an existing partnership with iTunes, if you're a huge fan like myself, you've probably already downloaded some if not all of the contents as they became available after the episodes aired. These aren't any different than the previous versions. All of them are still available t...

Review: Don't Miss 'The Voice' Live On Tour!

7/28/2011 8:00am EDT
The Voice
How do you follow up the smashing success of NBC's The Voice? With an equally fantastic concert tour that proves the show's talented artists are here to stay.

Almost exactly a month after the finale, the top eight contestants - winner Javier Colon, finalists Dia Frampton, Vicci Martinez, and Beverly McClellan, and semifinalists Casey Weston, Xenia, Nakia and Frenchie Davis - have joined together for a six-city tour that opened last night at the Gibson Ampitheatre in Los Angeles. Make no mistake about it, this is not a quick attempt to cash in on the show's popularity, nor is it recycling...

'The Voice': Five Things I'll Miss

6/28/2011 10:00am EDT
The Voice
NBC's smash hit The Voice ends its first season this week, and I, for one, am bummed. Over ten weeks I've found many reasons to call this show my favorite on television. As we get ready to crown a winner and say goodbye (for now), here's a list of the five things I'll miss most about The Voice.

5. Learning to love songs I used to loathe. The show has finally made me "get" why everyone else loves music so much. I've gone from the person who had little more than a passing interest, to somebody who is counting down the days (twenty-six) until I get to see one of my new favorite bands in con...

Armchair Musician: 'The Voice,' Week Nine

6/23/2011 1:00pm EDT
The Voice
I thought my experiences on The Voice couldn't get any better. Then Adam Levine happened. If you hadn't heard, he made my life on Tuesday night. This week's column, then, is a mix of objective discourse and subjective wide-eyed wonder that I'm not even going to try and apologize for.

First, let's talk about the music.

You have not truly seen this show until you've had the chance to see it in the studio. Adam and Maroon 5, with the help of Christina Aguilera, led off as they pre-taped the premiere performance of their new single "Moves Like Jagger." As a fan who hadn't yet seen Adam perf...

The Voice Live Show Quarter Finals #2 June 14

6/16/2011 6:00am EDT
The Voice
I don’t know why Carson Daly bugs me, but he does. Is it the blandness? Or his complete lack of animation? Either way, the night starts with him introducing the judges/coaches Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green, and Christina Aguilera before announcing the first cuts of the finals.

From Team Christina: Beverly McClellan, Lily Elise, Raquel Castro and Frenchie Davis. Tearfully, and proclaiming it ‘the hardest decision of my whole life,” (really? A few other moments come to mind.) Christina saved Frenchie Davis. Yeah! That girl can sing! To my surprise, America saved Beverly McClellan,...
