Winger is a hard rock band that formed in New York City and hit the height of their success in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The band is most well known for their albums “Winger” and “In the Heart of the Young,” which spawned their most successful singles: “Seventeen,” “Headed for a Heartbreak” and “Miles Away.” 1990 saw the band nominated for an American Music Award for 'Best New Heavy Metal Band,' however, as the musical climate of the early 90s began to shift towards grunge music, the band's popularity faded.
