Autographed Jack White Guitar Stolen

2/24/2011 11:45pm EST
Jack White
A rare guitar signed by former White Stripes star Jack White has been stolen from a set designer's studio in London.

The black Fender, worth $22,500, was swiped along with a TV and a computer from Paul Biver's property on January 23.

Biver, 37, had been given the guitar by a close pal - a rock memorabilia collector - three years ago as a gift in exchange for helping to redecorate his boat.

The designer claims he had only taken the musical instrument into the studio because he was in the process of building a display case for it.

Police believe more than one person was involved in the bu...

1/4/2011 9:56am EST
What does it really take to be one of the most recognized muses in rock ‘n’ roll? Just ask fiery haired Pamela Des Barres, the world’s most famous groupie. Before TMZ and Perez Hilton reported on the escapades of celebrities, the now 62-year-old California girl set off to meet her idols and was doing plenty of kissing, but no telling, at least until she published her world renowned memoir in 1987, I’m With The Band. Finally, she dished on what it was really like to be with some of music’s most influential artists, including Mick Jagger, Keith Moon, Jimmy Page, and Jim Morrison. Yet, it wasn...

Queens Of The Stone Age To Return

Queens of the Stone Age
Rockers Queens Of The Stone Age are set to end their two-year hiatus by heading back to the recording studio in 2011.

The band has not released any new material since 2007's Era Vulgaris, and in 2008 they embarked an extended break which saw frontman Josh Homme form Them Crooked Vultures with Dave Grohl and John Paul Jones.

Guitarist Dean Fertita also focused on a side-project, playing with Jack White's The Dead Weather, but the musician admits the No One Knows hit-makers are now ready to work together again.

He tells The Pulse Of Radio, "Things are going really good. Everybody seems ...

The details of Paul McCartney's big White House showdown have been revealed a week after the former Beatles star hinted about a presidential concert in a web chat.

Jack White, Dave Grohl, Emmylou Harris and Elvis Costello will also be part of the festivities on June 2nd. Paul Simon and Wonder are past Gershwin Prize winners.

Jack White Refuses To Hire A Nanny

4/30/2010 3:00pm EDT
Jack White
Jack White and his wife Karen Elson have refused to hire a nanny - the couple is determined to raise its two children without any help.

The White Stripes rocker is dad to Scarlett, four, and Henry, two, with his model/singer wife, who he married in 2005.

However, the proud parents are adamant the kids won't ever be cared for by a child minder - and White is convinced that if Paul McCartney can raise children, he can too.

He says, "Paul McCartney used to take his kids everywhere, never had a nanny I heard. So it can be done, it just becomes part of the scenario. At first it's overwhelm...

Jack White: 'Internet Is A Nuisance'

4/8/2010 1:30pm EDT
Jack White
Jack White dreams of a world with no internet - because the web is "a nuisance" that trivializes music.

The White Stripes rocker - who famously records most of his songs using old-fashioned analogue equipment - appreciates that modern technology connects people around the world, but he's adamant it is harming the music industry.

He tells British rock mag NME, "In my head I'm still living and working as if there is no internet, and treat it as a nuisance and use it for whatever is good about it that we can scrape together after the fact."

"The internet is a beautiful tool for many, man...

Review: 'It Might Get Loud'

8/12/2009 10:12am EDT
It Might Get Loud
Somewhere out on a farm in the middle of Tennessee stands Jack White, dressed as Jack White and with familiar Jack White stage manner, standing at a table with various (and somewhat random) items: a wood block, a glass bottle, a wire, a nail and a hammer. What does this have to do with guitar playing? Give him two minutes. He assembles the parts together to make a diddley bow*-- when was the last time you saw one of these-- and then punches some wildly astonishing wails out of it, before finally turning to the camera and asking, "Who says you need to buy a guitar?"

If this is the way dir...

Trailer Talk: This Week In Movies 8/9/09 - 8/15/09

8/10/2009 9:57am EDT
District 9
I finally saw the Sam Mendes dramedy "Away We Go" starring Maya Rudolph and John Krasinski. The film is thoroughly enjoyable with its highs and its lows sharing equal poignancy. It is the perfect hybrid of a drama and a comedy.

Music throughout the film is spot on, appropriate in each instance for the emotions the filmmakers are trying to convey. Rudolph and Krasinski have a wonderful chemistry as husband and wife and engage in hilarious interactions with the other couples in the movie. Krasinski plays the role of Burt with a dopey charm that's hard not to love.

This week is crowd...

GetBack Bond Ratings: Who Is The Best 007 Ever?

11/3/2008 10:48am EST
Quantum of Solace
With the release of Roger Moore's autobiography, My Word Is My Bond, and the upcoming Quantum Of Solace (the 22nd film in the Official James Bond franchise), we couldn't help but ponder: Who is the best 007 EVER? It goes without saying that he has to be an international man of mystery, a bad-ass crime solver, a babe magnet. Slick, suave, and seductive. But we have our own set of criteria for the best Bond. He must also:

1. Be a snazzy dresser.

2. Have a hot Bond girl.

3. Have a bitchin' ride.

4. Have a killer theme song.

5. Have a relaxing off-hours diversion.

The Rolling Stones - 'Stones In Exile' DVD Review

The Stones
The Rolling Stones “Stones in Exile” Eagle Rock Ent: If you don’t believe that there was a time when the Rolling Stones weren’t in the best of places – recording in basements and avoiding the law as examples – then set aside some time for “Stones in Exile,” a new documentary chronicling the bands recording process of their now-legendary “Exile on Main St.” album nearly three decades ago. The doc comes straight from the source as 3/5 of the band – Mick Jagger, Charlie Watts and Keith Richards - share producing credits, along with director Stephen Kijak, so rest assured going in that this isn...
