Elton John is hoping to bring Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's musical Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat to the big screen after signing up to help adapt the project through his production company, Rocket Pictures.

The Bennie and the Jets hitmaker has teamed up with Webber's The Really Useful Group to develop the film into an animated movie that his husband, David Furnish, will co-produce with Steve Hamilton Shaw.

Singer/actor Matthew Morrison is taking inspiration from his hit musical TV series Glee with plans to launch his own performing arts program in schools.

British singer Sarah Brightman is to travel into outer space.

The classical singer, who was once married to theatre impresario Andrew Lloyd Webber, will become the eighth civilian to visit the International Space Station after she undertakes a six-month training program in Moscow, Russia next year.

Artist Damien Hirst has bought a portrait of Paris Hilton made entirely from porn magazine covers for an undisclosed sum.

The Jonathan Yeo artwork was bought by the Brit just before Yeo exhibited his new collection of porn portraits at a former restaurant supply store in the Bowery, New York on Friday. The other Outsiders exhibits feature Tony Blair, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Rupert Murdoch.

Yeo plans to give Hilton proceeds from the sale of Paris, 2008 as a "lighthearted" gesture.
