Roger Waters has criticized actress Scarlett Johansson over the contentious partnership with SodaStream which ended her long-running association with Oxfam.

Johansson hit headlines last month when she was criticized for becoming the face of the Israel-based drinkmaker which has factories in the contested West Bank region.

The deal clashed with her work as an ambassador for Oxfam, which is "opposed to all trade from Israeli settlements," and Johansson subsequently stepped down from her role with the charity.

The singer compared the ongoing struggles of Palestinians to Adolf Hitler's mass killings of Jews during the Holocaust in the 1930s and 40s.

Pink Floyd star Roger Waters is recording his first new rock album in over two decades.

The legendary bassist/singer is back in the studio, and has told Rolling Stone magazine that he has already finished a demo of a new record.

Waters also reveals it is turning out to be a concept album, describing the yet-to-be-titled record as a story about "an old man and a young child trying to figure out why they're killing the children."

Although the 70 year old released an opera album in 2005, this will mark his first rock project since 1992 record Amused to Death.

Initial reports on Thursday suggested the British rocker was set to wed Laurie Durning this weekend, but it has since emerged the pair exchanged vows at their home in Southampton, New York on Saturday.
