Snoop Lion has turned up the heat on Jamaican icon Bunny Wailer after the musician took aim at the rapper's conversion to Rastafarianism.

During his 2012 pilgrimage to Bob Marley's home, Snoop met The Wailers legend and filmed the visit for his Reincarnated documentary; however the reggae great has since slammed the former rapper for his "outright fraudulent use" of Rasta culture.
 
The 41 year-old rapper-turned-reggae star was initially confused by Wailer's statement, suggesting the Jamaican star may have been misquoted, but now Snoop is on the attack.

Rapper-turned-reggae star Snoop Lion has turned up the heat on Jamaican icon Bunny Wailer after the musician took aim at the hitmaker's conversion to Rastafarianism.

Bob Marley's son Rohan has jumped to the defense of rapper Snoop Dogg after one of his late father's The Wailers band mates accused the rapper of fraudulently posing as a Rastafarian.

Bunny Wailer took aim at the Gin and Juice hit-maker after he was anointed by a Rastafarian priest while making his first reggae record in Jamaica last year.

After seeing images of the star, who now also goes by the moniker Snoop Lion, in traditional Rastafari dress and sporting dreadlocked hair, he accused him of the "outright fraudulent use of (the) Rastafari community's personalities and symbolism."

'Marley'
The music of Bob Marley makes me feel really, really good. I could be in the worst mood, stuck in traffic...whatever. All I have to do is click on 'One Love', 'Exodus' or 'No Woman No Cry' and my spirits soar.

However, my knowledge of Bob Marley was limited. I knew that he was a Rastafarian, a Jamaican legend and one incredible songwriter/singer.

After seeing Kevin McDonald's documentary entitled 'Marley' I am happy to report that I now know so much more about Bob Marley the man and why he was and still is one of the greatest musical icons of the 20th century.
