Soy Lo Prohibido
Release Date: 2001 09 11
Label: Universal Music Latino
Rating:

Mexican Limite's leading vocalist, Alicia Villarreal, recorded her first solo album during June and July 2001 in Los Angeles, CA. Soy Lo Prohibido, produced by Homero Patrón, includes a version of the '60s hit "Acompáñame," performed along with Pedro Fernández; the up-tempo "Ladrón"; Rebelde's "Te Quedo Grande la Yegua"; and Amparo Rubin's "Llevo Las Cuentas." Alicia Villarreal's Soy Lo Prohibido became a refreshing contemporary record in the traditional Mexican music scene. Drago Bonacich, All Music Guide
