Veruca Salt is an alternative rock band from Chicago, Illinois that formed in 1993 when led vocalist and guitarist Louise Post got together with fellow vocalist and guitarist Nina Gordon. Post and Gordon hooked up with Lili Taylor, and began playing music together. Shortly thereafter the trio were joined by Gordon's brother, Jim Shapiro, on drums, and Steve Lack on bass guitar. After creating a local buzz around their music the band signed with the indie label Minty Fresh Records and put out the single “Seether”/”All Hail Me” in 1994.
