Eddie Vedder helped pull in $1.7 million for President Barack Obama's re-election campaign by performing at a Florida fundraiser on Thursday.

The Pearl Jam frontman played four songs on a mandolin for the President and 85 VIP guests, who each paid $20,000 to attend the dinner in Tampa. Vedder, who covered Neil Young's Rockin' in the Free World in his short set, joked, "I can't say I've ever played that many songs in a suit before."

Eddie Vedder and his Pearl Jam bandmates made one family's Christmas wish come true by donating a signed guitar to replace a special memento which was stolen in a burglary.

The band handed over a signed instrument to Josh Hardy from New Hampshire in 1992 when he was dying of brain cancer and after his death; the instrument was left to his younger brother, Ben.

Punk icon Henry Rollins is celebrating on tour in Scotland after learning the West Memphis 3 are free men in Arkansas.

The former Black Flag and Rollins Band frontman was among the celebrities campaigning for the release of Damien Echols, Jessie Misskelley and Jason Baldwin, who were jailed for the murder of three boy scouts in 1993.

The three men have maintained their innocence ever since they were jailed for life in 1994, and on Friday they were released from prison after pleading guilty to the crime during an emergency hearing.

A new musical collaboration between rockers Eddie Vedder and Michael Stipe has leaked online.

"It Happened Today," which features on R.E.M.'s new album, leaked on Monday night.

Pearl Jam star Vedder has long been associated with Stipe and R.E.M. - he often appears onstage at concerts and he inducted the band into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007.

R.E.M.'s Collapse Into Now is set for release in March.

Neither Vedder, Stipe nor R.E.M. have commented about the Internet leak.

Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder is a married man after exchanging vows with his longtime girlfriend in Hawaii on Saturday.

The rocker wed his model fiancée Jill McCormick in front of famous guests including actor Sean Penn and musician Jack Johnson, according to US Weekly.

It is the second marriage for Vedder, who proposed in Washington, D.C. last year - he divorced Beth Liebling in 2000 after a six-year union.

Vedder and McCormick are parents to two daughters, Olivia, six, and Harper Moon, who is nearly two.

Rocker Eddie Vedder is fighting legal action from a Canadian singer/songwriter for changing the lyrics to a song he recorded for the "Into the Wild" soundtrack.

The Pearl Jam singer recorded Gordon Peterson's tune "Hard Sun" in 2007 for Sean Penn's hit film, but Peterson, who originally wrote the track in 1987, wasn't happy when he heard the finished version - and realized the rock icon had altered the lyrics.

Peterson is now suing Vedder and has filed papers in New York's Manhattan federal court.

Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder is to wed his longtime girlfriend Jill McCormick after proposing to the model on Friday. The rocker asked McCormick to marry him during a weekend trip to Washington, D.C., where Vedder paid tribute to Bruce Springsteen at the Kennedy Center Honors gala on Sunday.

Vedder, 44, has two daughters with the 32-year-old beauty - Olivia, five, and 15-month-old baby girl Harper.

It will be Vedder's second marriage - his 16-year relationship with first wife Beth Liebling ended in divorce in 2000.
