VHS or Beta is a house/disco band that infuses elements of pop and rock music into their sound. The band hail from Louisville, Kentucky and are based out of Brooklyn, NY. The band consists of co-founding members; guitarist and vocalist Craig Pfunder and bassist Mark Palgy. The duo recruited guitarist Zeke Buck, and drummer Mark Guidry to fill out the line-up. The band's self-released debut EP “Le Funk” gained the band some attention; however, it was their debut album, “Night on Fire” that arrived in 2004, that shot the band into the mainstream spotlight. For the next two years the band embarked on extensive touring, while recording their follow-up album, “Bring on the Comets” (2007).

The band's third studio album, “Diamonds and Death” appeared in 2011 on their own record label, Chromosome Records. 2005 saw the band open up for Duran Duran, followed by the first founding member of the band, Pfunder, leaving a year later in 2006. 2010 saw the exit of the second founding members, Palgy. Currently the band is working on new material.
