George Strait has made country music history by scoring his 41st number one on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart in America. The Texan singer/songwriter's "Give It Away" has toppled Steve Holy's "Brand New Girlfriend," giving Strait the honor of becoming the only artist to have more than 40 chart toppers.

The first round of artists announced to perform on "The 40th Annual CMA Awards" to be telecast Monday, November 6, on ABC includes a star-packed lineup who are also all nominees for this year's awards.
