This beyond-budget-price collection of the late great Conway Twitty's love songs is far from complete. That said, it does provide a fantastic glimpse of Twitty from the early to mid-'60s through the late '70s when he was a country crooner on a par with the best of them, à la Ray Price and George Jones, and a fine pop singer to give Kenny Rogers a run for his money. Twitty's voice may have had a bit rawer grain, but it was also more expressive in its own way. Check out his reading of Charlie Craig and Keith Stegall's "I Think I'm in Love," and John Bettis' and Michael Clark's "Slow Hand." Thom Jurek, All Music Guide
