Vice presidential hopeful Paul Ryan used Twisted Sister's popular tune "We're Not Gonna Take It" during a campaign stop in Pennsylvania, and the band's singer Dee Snider isn't too pleased.

On Tuesday, Mitt Romney's Republican running mate reportedly blared the classic hit to pump up the crowd at a political rally. Snider heard about it and has launched a formal complaint with Ryan's camp.

Sinder said in a statement: "I emphatically denounce Paul Ryan's use of my band Twisted Sister's song 'We're Not Gonna Take It' in any capacity. There is almost nothing he stands for that I agree with ex...

Twisted Sister star Dee Snider has slammed Axl Rose for snubbing his Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction, insisting the Guns N' Roses frontman is "screwed up".

Rose has written to officials at the Hall of Fame declining the induction and revealing he won't be attending Saturday's gala in Cleveland, Ohio - and his stand has annoyed rocker-turned-radio host and TV personality Snider.

Interviewing Rose's former bandmate Slash at the Revolver Golden Gods awards in Los Angeles on Wednesday, the "We're Not Gonna Take It" singer, said, "Someone just told me that it's official Axl is not gonna sin...

Q&A: Jesse Blaze Snider - A Rock Star Of Many Colors

January 23rd, 2012 1:40pm EST
Jesse Blaze Snider
Don't judge Jesse Blaze Snider solely by the fact that his father is rock legend Dee Snider.

In fact, don't judge him solely by the fact that he's also a musician. While he is in the family business, he's also a successful comic book writer (Dead Romeo, Hulk, Thor) and TV host (MTV2, Fuse and AOL's Top 11 Countdown). In between his many ventures, Jesse took the time to sit down with me and talk about growing up in the spotlight as well as making a versatile name for himself.

You're working on your first solo album right now. What can people expect from it?

I've been trying to kind of b...

One of the best things about being a rock star is that you don't have to stay in shape to be successful. You can be skinny and scrawny like Jimmy Page and Flavor Flav or you can be large and in charge like Meatloaf and Heavy D however, to have bad hair can be some what of a set back.

Here are some Musicians who have carried on, persisted and triumphed despite being follicly handicapped.

CMT's 'Gone Country' Is Surprisingly Entertaining

"Gone Country," a show in which mostly washed-up singers are resurrected as country stars, is the first show, to my knowledge, on CMT that I've watched in its entirety. I wouldn't call myself a country fan by any means, and at first glance this didn't seem like an appealing show at all. That was until I saw the lineup of goof balls that they had enlisted:

Dee Snider: He's the cross-dressing front man of Twisted Sister whose last major hit was over 20 years ago. I "met" him once in Chicago. He was going through a revolving door with me. I threw some metal horns at him with my hand...

Music Spotlight: 80s Hair Bands

January 2nd, 2008 10:15am EST
Twisted Sister
Hair. It's a four letter word that made a big impact on bands during the 80s. During that time, Aqua Net super hold hairspray was a household name and big-bodied hair was the goal for some rockers. Bands such as Motley Crue, Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, and Twisted Sister took big hair to a whole new level.

Short black locks and long blonde hair could only point to a band that doesn't follow the rules so well. Twisted Sister, fronted by Dee Snider, flaunted his thick, blond tresses during such anthems as, "We're not Gonna Take It" and "I Wanna Rock." Not only did he have big hair, his band...

Twisted Sister have been forced to scrap a concert in California due to poor ticket sales. The gig at the Bren Events Center in Irvine was planned by two entrepreneurial fans who took out a $100,000 bank loan to fund the December 14 show.

Blabbermouth.net reports the Newport Beach, California couple stood to earn a tidy fortune for local charities and cover their loan if the show was a sell-out, but now it looks as if the pair will be left out of pocket after only 600 of the 4,300 tickets sold.
