Drummer Earl Palmer Has Died At The Age Of 84
R&B drummer Earl Palmer has died at the age of 84. The New Orleans-native died Friday at his Los Angeles home after fighting a lengthy illness, according to his spokesperson.
Palmer was known as a music pioneer amongst his peers, recording backbeats for classics including Little Richard's Tutti Frutti and The Righteous Brothers' You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'.
His talents have also been featured in music tracks for Ike and Tina Turner, jazz great Fats Domino, The Monkees, Neil Young and Frank Sinatra.

Soul star Ike Turner insists he has no complaints after police mistakenly arrested him on an outstanding drugs charge due to a computer glitch earlier this week. The 75-year-old was pulled over by Los Angeles cops in a traffic stop on Tuesday night. Veteran soul star Ike Turner is in police custody without bail in Los Angeles after cops pulled him over on suspicion of speeding and found he was wanted on an outstanding drugs charge. The 75-year-old, the former husband of singer Tina Turner, was allegedly clocked driving his Mercedes at 80 miles per hour and straddling lanes on the 405 Freeway in the San Fernando Valley at 11.45pm last night.
