The first release new music release date of October is upon us! Is it chocked full of surefire hits? Eh, not specifically, but it is top heavy with the return of Miss Jackson aka Janet Jackson. Additionally, Tamar Braxton, Avicii, Trivium, and Matt Nathanson all return following two-year breaks. None are quite as anticipated as Jackson’s albums, but they also aren’t slouches either. The UK's Metal Hammer magazine just posted a brand new video clip of the mighty Slayer in the studio recording a track for their brand new album, due out Summer 2009. You can watch it here.

Atlantic recording artist Shadows Fall has received a Grammy nomination for Best Metal Performance for the song "Redemption" off their critically acclaimed label debut, Threads Of Life.

Clearly a leader in their genre, this marks the band's second Grammy nomination in the category, following their nod at the 2006 awards for "What Drives The Weak" off of their Century Media release, The War Within.

Korn and Evanescence To Headline 2007 'Family Values Tour'

Korn and Evanescence will co-headline this summer's Family Values Tour. They will be sharing the traveling festival's main stage with Atreyu, Flyleaf, Hellyeah (featuring members of Pantera and Mudvayne), and Trivium.
