Trapeze were a hard rock band that fused rock and funk into one sound; formed in England sometime between 1968 and 1969 by lead vocalist John Jones, guitarist/keyboardist Terry Rowley, singer/guitarist Mel Galley, bassist Glenn Hughes, and drummer Dave Holland. Trapeze signed to Threshold Records and quickly released their self-titled debut album in 1970; shortly thereafter Jones and Rowley left the band to return to their former band, Montanas. Later that year, the remaining trio released their second record, “Medusa,” to the delight of a growing fan base.
