12/22/2015 7:45pm EST
Monica’s Voice Sounds As Remarkable As Ever On 'Code Red'
It seems like it has been ages since Monica and Brandy proclaimed, “The Boy Is Mine.” Actually, it’s been nearly 18 years! Monica has had hits and successful albums since then – notably After The Storm (2003) and Still Standing (2010) – but Monica’s previous album New Life failed to sell very well. Why? That’s the plight of an R&B artist, particularly one that’s not at the forefront at a given time.

After a three-year hiatus, Mo returns with Code Red, hoping to reinvigorate her career. Over its course, Monica sounds terrific vocally, though that’s never been an issue. The question becomes,...

The original recording of "Bajba, Bajba Pelem" was released as "Gypsy Life on the Road" by Mitsou's group Ando Drom in 1997.

Did Beyonce steal a sample from this song?
