Leighton Meester
Scheduling problems have prevented Leighton Meester from reprising her role in the upcoming big-screen remake of "Veronica Mars." Original cast members including Kristen Bell and Krysten Ritter have signed up for the film; however, creator Rob Thomas was unable to secure the former "Gossip Girl" star for the flick. She would have played Carrie Bishop.

Thomas posted on official Kickstarter.com: "Sadly, Leighton was doing a different movie during the same time frame on the wrong coast. In the end, she was unavailable. One of the reasons I wanted Leighton, beyond her talent/beauty/history in ...

With news last week that ABC was considering carrying on Scrubs for a ninth season, the question buzzing around Hollywood was: Can Scrubs go on without J.D.?

The eighth season was supposed to be the last. After NBC decided not to renew the show last year, ABC, which had been producing the show since its premiere in 2001, took up the option to air the series, with the expectation that it would be the final season. Most of the main cast members have either stated that they wouldn't return for another season (Zach Braff, Judy Reyes) or have been cast in new television pilots (Donald...

A Chat With Adam Scott of Starz New Series 'Party Down'

March 20th, 2009 11:04am EDT
Adam Scott
It usually takes awhile for for me to warm up to any new series; this was not the case with Party Down -- premiering tonight (Friday) on Starz -- which is perhaps the funniest new show I've seen this season.

Adam Scott (Step Brothers, Tell Me You Love Me) plays Henry, an out-of-work actor who has to return to his old job of bartending for a catering service. Adam talked about the new series, what it was like working with Will Ferrell in Step Brothers and why so many college age students watched his old show, Boy Meets World.

Mike: How did your involvement in Party Down come about...
