The Tubes is a rock band that hails from San Francisco and formed in the early 1970s. The band's debut album arrived in 1975 and spawned the hit single, “White Punks on Dope.” The Tubes began when its members with still in high schools and played in two separate bands: The Beans and The Red, White and Blues Band. When both bands relocated to San Francisco in 1969 they merged to become The Tubes. The band's line-up consisted of John Waldo Waybill on vocals; Bill “Sputnik” Spooner on guitar, and vocals; Roger Steen on guitar; Charles L.
