The Trammps were a disco and soul band who hailed from Philadelphia and rose to fame in 1972 with their cover of Judy Garland's 1940's, “Zing! Went the Strings of My Heart.” The band followed up a year later with the hit, “Love Epidemic” in 1973, however, the band are most well-known for their Grammy Award winning song, “Disco Inferno” (1976), which became a hit in the U.K. (peaking at #47 on the Singles Chart) and in the U.S (peaking at #11 on Billboard's Hot 100 Singles Chart).
