The Jam was a punk rock/mod revival band that hit the height of their success in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The band hailed from Working, in Surrey, England and was born out of the teenage angst of the punk-rock movement that swept England at the time. Clever lyrics that depicted the social struggles in England at the time, coupled with clean-cut tailored suits, and the good looks of front man, Paul Weller, gave The Jam the edge over their musical peers at the time, such as The Clash and The Sex Pistols.
