In a twitter post on Thursday, Sum 41 drummer Steve 'Stevo' Jocz announced he has quit the group after 17 years in the line-up.

The Screaming Bloody Murder rocker thanked fans for their support but failed to give details for his reason for his sudden departure.

He writes, "I'm sorry to announce that I've decided to leave Sum 41. Touring with the band has been an amazing experience that has taken us far beyond our old practice space in my parent's basement to countless countries around the world."

Whibley dressed as his ex while Cooper donned some fake facial hair and carried a red party cup with the name "Chad" on it at a Halloween party.

Rockers Sum 41 have pulled out of the Vans Warped Tour to allow injured frontman Deryck Whibley to recover after he was attacked in a bar brawl.

Whibley was hospitalized after three men reportedly assaulted him during a night out in Japan last week. The attack is believed to have aggravated a previous back injury from 2007.

Sum 41 have been forced to scrap a string of tour dates after frontman Deryck Whibley injured his back while on the road.

The 27-year-old has been ordered by doctors to avoid performing for six weeks so the band's remaining dates have been scrapped while the singer recovers.
