Famed music producer Phil Ramone has died at the age of 79. The producer and sound engineer, who worked with stars including Ray Charles, Billy Joel and Barbra Streisand, passed away on Saturday in New York City. 

His death comes just weeks after he was hospitalized to treat an aortic aneurysm.

The actress/singer will be saluted by the Film Society of Lincoln Center at the event in New York.

Barbra Streisand is set to play Seth Rogen's mother on the big screen, in new comedy My Mother's Curse.

The pair has signed on to star and executive produce the road-trip comedy about an inventor, played by Rogen, who invites his mother on a cross-country journey as he tries to sell his new product while reuniting her with a lost love.

Dan Fogelman wrote the screenplay based on his own experiences traveling with his own mom, while The Proposal's Anne Fletcher will direct.

Shooting is scheduled to begin in the spring.
