Brooks & Dunn, Kenny Chesney, George Strait, Sugarland and host Reba McEntire with special guest Kelly Clarkson are set to perform on the 42nd Annual Academy Of Country Music Awards, to be broadcast live from Las Vegas' MGM Grand, Tuesday, May 15 (8:00-11:00 PM, live ET/delayed PT) on CBS. The event honors country music's top talent as well as the industry's hottest emerging talent.

Country duo Brooks & Dunn have climbed over George Strait as the big draw at the upcoming Academy Of Country Music Awards in May after landing another two honors. It was announced yesterday that Strait led the nominations with eight, but now Brooks & Dunn have the chance to take home nine prizes between them.

George Strait has been crowned the king of country this morning after landing eight nominations for the upcoming Academy Of Country Music Awards.

Country music trio Rascal Flatts will lead the way at the 2007 CMT Music Awards next month after landing a handful of nominations for two promos yesterday.

The group's What Hurts The Most and Life Is A Highway videos are up for a string of honors at the Nashville, Tennessee ceremony on April 16.

Both videos will compete for the Best Group Video prize, which the trio won in 2006.

Other nominees include Carrie Underwood, Dixie Chicks, Kenny Chesney, Sugarland, Toby Keith and George Strait.

MCA Nashville will release “Live At Texas Stadium,” a collection of individual and collaborative live performances by musical legends Alan Jackson, George Strait & Jimmy Buffett, April 3. The recordings are from their 2004 mega concert event in Dallas.

George Strait has made country music history by scoring his 41st number one on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart in America. The Texan singer/songwriter's "Give It Away" has toppled Steve Holy's "Brand New Girlfriend," giving Strait the honor of becoming the only artist to have more than 40 chart toppers.
