Stone Sour Cancels Tour After Drummer Has A Stroke

Stone Sour cancelled the rest of their U.S. tour after drummer Roy Mayorga suffered a minor stroke.

The group was performing in their home town of Des Moines, Iowa, last week when Mayorga fell ill following the gig.

And now the band has scrapped the rest of their dates to allow the musician time to recover.

A statement on the band's website reads, "It is with regret that we have decided to cancel the remaining dates on our current headline tour. Our friend and drummer, Roy Mayorga suffered a minor stroke a couple of nights ago after our show in Des Moines. He's doing great and is expecte...

Heavy metal stars Avenged Sevenfold were crowned the most talented musicians in rock on Wednesday after sweeping the board with four prizes at the 2011 Revolver Golden Gods Awards.

Frontman M. Shadows beat Ozzy Osbourne and Iron Maiden's Bruce Dickinson to claim Best Vocalist, while Synyster Gates and Zacky Vengeance were named joint winners for Best Guitarist.

Coheed and Cambria have organized a benefit show in New York City for Alzheimer's Disease on October 19, 2007 at the Highline Ballroom, as part of the CMJ Music Marathon. The band has joined forces with the New York Chapter of The Alzheimer's Association (www.alznyc.org) for what's billed as "A concert to help end Alzheimer's."

Coheed will perform a full set with some surprises at this rare club appearance. All proceeds from the concert will go to the organization, and donations will be requested online.
