State Radio is an alternative rock band from Sherborn, Massachusetts that currently consists of Chad Urmston on lead vocals and guitar, Chuck Fay on bass and Mike Najarian on drums. State Radio's songs focus on themes of a social and political nature that infuse a combination of musical styles, such as reggae, punk-rock, and rock and roll. Urmston, who disbanded Dispatch at the height of its popularity in 2002, formed State Radio later the same year. He recruited guitarist Pete Halby, bassist Chuck Fay and drummer Mike Greenfield to fill out the lineup. Their first EP, “Flag of the Shiners,” arrived in 2002 on Fenway Recordings.
