Regina Ilyinichna Spektor (born February 18, 1980) is a Russian-born American singer-songwriter and pianist. Her music is associated with the anti-folk scene centered in New York City's East Village. Her first self produced album “11:11” was self-released in 2001 on CD and sold at her early shows. It currently is only available in digital format. 2002’s follow-up “Songs” was recorded in its entirety on Christmas Day of 2001 and all of the songs were recorded in one take. In 2004, she signed a contract with Warner Brothers' record label Sire Records to publish and distribute her third album “Soviet Kitsch,” originally self-released in 2003.
