Eddie Vedder and his bandmates are expected to continue an ongoing tour well into 2014, and although dates have yet to be announced, Cameron wants to keep his schedule clear so he can honor his commitment to the group.

The decision means he will not be able to join his Soundgarden pals ...

Billy Corgan
Smashing Pumpkins star Billy Corgan has criticized reunited rockers Soundgarden for staging a comeback, insisting the move must have been motivated by money.

The Black Hole Sun hit-makers regrouped last year for the first time since their 1997 split, and they are currently performing shows across the globe but Corgan wasn't impressed by the reunion.

He tells Philippines website Philstar.com, "There are those bands that are essentially coming back only to make money - playing their old albums, and maybe somewhere in the back of their minds they're thinking there might be a future..."

Chris Cornell Slams Kanye West Over Festival Volume

January 23rd, 2012 11:37am EST
Chris Cornell
Kanye West infuriated Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell at Australia's Big Day Out festival after the rapper's sound system disrupted the band's set when he started 45 minutes late.

The Stronger hit-maker was one of the headlining acts at the event on the Gold Coast on Sunday night, but a heavy downpour meant West couldn't begin his show until almost an hour after he was due to take to the stage.

The volume of his set infiltrated Soundgarden's performance on a nearby stage, prompting the group's fans to boo and Cornell himself to speak out over the noise.

He shouted, "Sounds like the...

Rapper Kanye West has been dropped from three legs of a multi-venue music festival Down Under, reportedly due to financial cuts.

The hip-hop star was previously scheduled to perform at all of the Big Day Out concerts, but he will no longer appear in Perth and Adelaide in Australia or in Auckland, New Zealand - the three cities where declining ticket sales have seen the festivals downsize.

Organizers claim the line-up change is down to a restructuring of the events, with a spokesperson telling Australian ABC News, "For our 20th year, we have chosen to rebuild the Perth and Adelaide event...

Soundgarden Reunited For The Fans

Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell is adamant the rock band reunited for the sake of its fans, insisting: "It's not a cash in."

The Black Hole Sun hitmakers announced last year they were back together for the first time in 12 years, and it emerged in February they are now in the studio working on new songs.

Bassist Ben Shepherd sparked speculation the reunion was money-driven after he confessed he's broke and "technically homeless" - but Cornell has now spoken out to reassure fans the rockers did not plan the comeback for cash.

He tells Mojo magazine, "It's not a cash-in, we control what...

Newly Reunited Soundgarden's Best Music Videos

With Chris Cornell announcing a Soundgarden reunion, it's a great excuse to take a look back at the band's eclectic music videos.

This jittery, sporadic video for Rusty Cage will probably make your eyes hurt, but it's the style of bizarre music video that Soundgarden loved to produce. It also features some of Chris Cornell's best vocals and a great bass guitar arrangement.

Grunge at its core, Outshined is fairly run-of-the-mill as far as music videos are concerned. But if you want to see Chris Cornell shirtless, look no further...

CD Review: The Lonely Forest, We Sing The Body Electric!

The Lonely Forest
The sources of new music for me are many. Recommendations from friends, reading music reviews, and once in a while, a chance radio experience. While listening to the local college station here in Atlanta recently, I heard a song that I had to find. I called Album 88 (Georgia State University's WRAS) and the DJ told me it was "We Sing In Time" by the Anacortes, WA band The Lonely Forest. My mission was clear: get that album. Following a brief search, I broke down and bought the download.

After several listens into "We Sing The Body Electric!," I had discovered the music that would ...

How Will We Categorize Our Current Decade of Music?

July 24th, 2008 8:45am EDT
50 Cent
We all know that the 70s was the decade of classic/arena rock, the 80s was the decade of hair metal/synth pop and the 90s was the decade of grunge/alternative rock. This brings up a question that a lot of music lovers must wonder: how will we categorize our current decade of music?

It's funny how music tends to change every generation. The 70s was the era of classic rock where groups such as Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith and Lynyrd Skynyrd took over the entire music scene. Next up was the 80s, where both hair metal rockers such as Guns 'N Roses, Def Leppard and Bon Jovi reigned, along with ...

Singstar 90s
Oh, the '90s. Too young to be considered hip in an ironic and nostalgic way, it currently sits in the awkward phase, awaiting d-list comedians to show up at VH1 with their best Bill Clinton jokes tucked away for such an occasion. While the decade gave us some spectacular artists like Beck and Nirvana, it also offered the dregs of the musical society with Chumbawamba and MC Hammer. Singstar: '90s has a collection of both worlds, offering the chance to croon along with some of your favorite songs and videos – then cringe at the hilariously bad tunes and their awkward visual pieces.
