Johnny McDaid says Ed Sheeran is "one of the messiest" people he knows.
The Snow Patrol frontman, who recently moved in with girlfriend Courteney Cox, lived with the 'Lego House' hitmaker in Nashville and Los Angeles in the past, and despite being close friends he is glad they no longer live together.
The 37-year-old rocker told The Hollywood Reporter: "Ed is one of my favorite human beings in the world, and he is quite certainly a genius, but he's also one of the messiest human beings I've ever met in my life. But I think part of that is because he was working so hard."

On Thursday night, Snow Patrol rocker Tom Simpson has quit the group after playing a final concert in Northern Ireland.

Frontman Gary Lightbody revealed news of the keyboardist's departure while on stage at the Tennent's Vital festival in Belfast and dedicated the band's hit Chasing Cars to the musician.

Snow Patrol frontman Gary Lightbody has filmed a cameo in hit TV series Game Of Thrones.

The singer took to his page on Monday to share a photograph of himself in his medieval costume after shooting an appearance in the fantasy drama.

He wrote, "So I did my scene this morning for Game Of Thrones. I looked like this. Can't say much - just it's no pivotal role. Fun!"

Drummers Unite For Sudan

Rockers from bands including Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Snow Patrol have teamed up to help prevent any more bloodshed in Sudan.

Drummers from the groups are taking part in the Beat for Peace campaign, a film which calls for an end to conflict in the African country after millions died in the civil war there, which ended in 2005.

The documentary, which is part of the wider Sudan365 campaign, features the musicians alongside other artists from Sudan, Australia and Japan.

Snow Patrol rocker Gary Lightbody has blasted the prison sentence handed to Scandinavian music pirates - insisting fans are welcome to download his songs for free.

The four founders of website The Pirate Bay were convicted in Sweden this month and sentenced to a year in prison after they was found guilty of breaching copyright laws. They were also ordered to pay $3.48 million in damages to a number of entertainment companies whose material they pirated.

Snow Patrol rocker Tom Simpson has missed a second court appearance on charges of cocaine possession. The keyboard player was detained by police on July 7, just hours after performing at the London leg of Live Earth, for missing a previous hearing.

He was subsequently released and ordered to face the drug charge - dating back to an arrest in Glasgow in June 2006 - on July 31.

However, he failed to show up at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Tuesday and the case was continued until August 28 after a request from Simpson's lawyer. Sheriff Iain Peebles did not query Simpson's absence. Snow P...
