Snoop Dogg has launched a new foundation to help poor families in Jamaica grow their own food.

The legendary rapper was shocked by the levels of poverty faced by locals, especially youngsters, while recording his first reggae album Reincarnated in the country.

He has now set up The Minds Garden Project, which will provide residents with tools and resources so they can grow their own fruit and vegetables.

Rapper Snoop Dogg has been banned from entering Norway for two years after allegedly trying to smuggle marijuana into the country last month.

Rapper Snoop Dogg was reportedly detained at a Norwegian airport on Thursday morning after customs officials discovered cannabis in his luggage.

The Gin and Juice hit-maker, a longtime user of the drug, was stopped by officers at the Kristiansand Airport in Kjevik, after they found eight grams of weed, according to TMZ.com.

The website reports the rapper was fined $1,980 as the amount was less than 15 grams.

The two-weekend Coachella festival experiment was a big success - organizers are planning to stage the event over 10 days again next year.

Radiohead, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg and The Black Keys repeated headlining spots over two weekends last month and the line-up for both California festivals remained unchanged.

The idea proved to be so successful, it will be repeated in 2013.

No headliners or performers have been announced for the 2013 model, but organizers have confirmed the next Coachella will run from April 12-14 and April 19-21.
