Sister Hazel is an alternative rock band from Gainesville, Florida, who formed in 1993. The band's sound fuses elements of folk rock, pop, and both classic rock 'n' roll and southern rock. The band is known for their instrumentation and the arrangement of their songs, which adhere to abrupt shifts between electric, to acoustic, to cappella. The group released their self-titled debut album in 1994 on the independent record label, Croakin' Poets. The band consists of Ken Block on lead vocals and acoustic guitar; Jett Beres on bass, and vocals; Andrew Copeland on guitar and vocals; Ryan Newell on slide guitar and vocals; Mark Trojanowski on drums.
