Simply Red stars settle land dispute with neighbour

Former Simply Red bandmates Mick Hucknall and Chris De Margary have settled a hunting dispute with a neighbour in County Donegal, Ireland.

The pop star pals sued John Wilde in 2009, claiming he had been interfering with the sporting rights connected to their Glenmore Lodge estate.

Hucknall and De Margary bought the main house and land in 2005 and relaunched the Glenmore Rivers Sporting Estate.

However, Wilde insisted the land they claimed was theirs had been transferred to his father by the previous owners.

The Beastie Boys were forced to scrap a planned performance at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Cleveland, Ohio on Saturday night when rapper Adam 'MCA' Yauch pulled out of the event.

The trio was saluted by rap heavyweights Chuck D and LL Cool J but only Mike Diamond and Adam Horovitz were on hand to accept the accolade.

EMI's Family Of Artists And Songwriters Raise $940,000 To Support Japanese Red Cross Disaster Relief Efforts

An auction of exclusive personal items and memorabilia donated by EMI’s family of artists and songwriters has raised $940,000 in funds to help the Red Cross support people affected by last month’s earthquake and tsunami in Japan.

The charity auction, which launched on eBay’s worldwide sites on April 5, attracted bids totaling $470,000 from music fans around the world. All the money from winning bidders will be doubled through a donation by EMI.

Simply Red star Mick Hucknall has finally ended a long-running feud with record label Warner following over a year of negotiations.

The Holding Back The Years singer had been embroiled in a legal battle with the company for seven years since 2000, after Warner released retrospective album It's Only Love against Hucknall's wishes.

Hucknall has until now refused to cooperate with Warner on re-working his back catalog, and all new releases since 2000 have been issued through simplyred.com. However, the star has now won 50 per cent control of his back catalog.

British pop supergroup Simply Red are to split in 2009 once their current tour ends. Frontman Mick Hucknall has revealed the group's Stay album - released in March - will be their last studio album but they're not ready to call it quits just yet.

Simply Red star Mick Hucknall and his partner Gabriella Wesberry are expecting their first child in June.
