Simple Minds are a Scottish rock band who achieved worldwide popularity in the 1980s with their #1 hit song, “Don't You Forget About Me,” which was featured on the John Hughes cult-classic film, “The Breakfast Club.” The movie, as did the song, became an anthem for the disaffected youth at the time. Simple Minds first came together in the late 1970s from the ashes of the punk band, 'Jonny & The Self-Abusers.' When the band split up, Jim Kerr and Charlie Burchill went on to form Simple Minds.
