10 Incredibly Heartfelt Songs of 2014
In an age dominated by big records, there’s nothing like a truly captivating, heartfelt song. That’s not to say that a record can’t be a song or visa versa, but these days, the two aren’t necessarily interchangeable. For all of the big records dropped in 2014, there are also some incredibly notable heartfelt songs that definitely deserve recognition (see the bloated, incomplete list of honorable mentions). But to keep the list from being forever long, here are 10 of the most heartfelt songs of 2014.

1) Sam Smith, “Stay With Me” (In The Lonely Hour)

Isn’t this one a total no-brainer...

30 Best Songs Of 2014 (So Far)
2014 has delivered a wealth of exceptional new songs. Some songs truly captivate with their songwriting, while others are ‘records’ which standout because of their sound. Choosing only 30 songs out of a sea filed with truly terrific songs is difficult; this list provides 30 of the best songs from January through June 2014.

1) Sam Smith, "Stay With Me"

from In the Lonely Hour

Maybe he’s ‘too emotional’ and 'sucks at one-night stands' as he sings, but Sam Smith can definitely sing – that’s the understatement of the year. The soaring, highly relatable “Stay With Me” exemplifies Smith’...

Ed Sheeran’s Excellent Chart Numbers: This Week in Music

Ed Sheeran’s Excellent Chart Numbers: This Week in Music
Ed Sheeran should be beaming "ear to ear." Why? According to billboard.com, Sheeran moved 210,000 copies of his sophomore album, X (pronounced 'multiply'). That’s a healthy sum, particularly given the new normal that is album sales. With 210,000 copies sold, the takeaway for the British singer/songwriter is that he truly has a shot – at gold and maybe platinum.

Sheeran wasn’t the only artist experiencing a 'come up.' Rapper G-Eazy took his cocky and confident These Things Happen to #3. The 46,000 copies isn’t exactly 'the second coming,' but it's not too shabby either. Compared to ot...

Sheeran was thrilled by the news, writing on Twitter: "182k sold in the UK week one making it the fastest selling album of the year. I'm on cloud 9 and keep laughing at everything. Love you all."

Ed Sheeran, X – a review

British singer/songwriter Ed Sheeran's profile has risen tremendously over the past couple of years. While 2011 debut album + didn't blow the charts away when it bowed, the album received a lift from his Grammy-nominated hit, "The A Team", a memorable and meaningful song by all means. Sophomore album X ("multiply") elevates Sheeran's stardom, delivering a captivating pop album.

"One" and "I'm A Mess" open X more minimal-minded, embracing Sheeran’s acoustic-pop and folksy side. "One" is the more understated track, pacing itself until the second verse adds ...

You Won't Believe What Ed Sheeran Just Said About Taylor Swift!

You Won't Believe What Ed Sheeran Just Said About Taylor Swift!
Taylor Swift may only be 24-years-old, but she tends to act a bit more mature than that, according to former tour-mate Ed Sheeran.

Sheeran might not have meant any ill will with his comment, but it certainly didn't sound good when he basically referred to the Pennsylvania native as a crazy cat lady!

“I know she’s 24 but she’s a sort of middle-aged woman trapped in a 24-year-old’s body," he told Time magazine in a recent interview.

Ouch!

That wasn't all, he also painted her out to be pretty boring as well.

"She hangs out with her cat and sews things," he added, referring to a needlework...

Thoughts On The 56th Annual Grammy Nominations

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis
The Grammys are like a musician’s Super Bowl, even if the nominations and victorious artists are flawed.  I won’t lie to you, I complain every year that someone won a Grammy that didn’t deserve it while someone else was snubbed. Just last year, during the 55th Annual Grammys, I lobbied hard for Frank Ocean (looking back, I have reservations now) while Mumford & Sons walked out with the Album of the Year trophy.  The year that Taylor Swift won for Fearless, my girl Beyoncé was on a roll until the coveted Album of the Year award was read.  You get my position though! This year,  I find myself...

Fans of British singer/songwriter Ed Sheeran have angered Pink Floyd's loyal devotees after failing to realise his performance of the rockers' classic tune "Wish You Were Here" at the London Olympics Closing Ceremony was a cover.

Sheeran's following mistakenly thought the track he sang at the 2012 Games extravaganza was a new piece by "The A Team" hitmaker, and their lack of musical knowledge has upset Pink Floyd's longtime fanbase, with many members complaining directly to the group's drummer Nick Mason, who backed the newcomer onstage at the big gig.
