The Beastie Boys To Be Subject Of New Photo Exhibit

Rare images of pioneering rap group the Beastie Boys are set to go on display to celebrate the stars' upcoming induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The Beastie Boys' Mike D, Adam 'MCA' Yauch and Ad-Rock will cement their place in the famed Cleveland, Ohio museum on Saturday and to celebrate the honor, a special three-part Kings of Rock photo exhibit will be staged at hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons' Rush Arts Gallery in New York this week .

A bag of cash helped Oasis overturn a ban from bosses of fabled London studios Abbey Road - and steal recording space from U2. Rocker Noel Gallagher has revealed he and his bandmates were told they'd no longer be welcome at the studios after turning them into late-night party spaces during the recording of Be Here Now.

Rick Rubin Joins Columbia

Revered music producer Rick Rubin has confirmed he's taking a leading role at record label Columbia. The company issued a statement yesterday revealing the Def Jam Records co-founder has been hired and will play a major part in the music group's immediate future.

His exact role has not been revealed, but the official line is he will "form a dynamic and creative executive partnership" with Columbia chairman Steve Barnett.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers have teamed up with actor/comedian Chris Rock on the video for "Hump de Bump" -- the upcoming fourth U.S. single from the band's multiple-Grammy winning, double-platinum album "Stadium Arcadium." Rock directed the clip, which was shot on the Los Angeles set of the comedian's CW show "Everybody Hates Chris."
