For the first half of the year, Lionel Richie's "Tuskegee" is the best-selling album released in 2012. The album features duets of 13 of his timeless hits with Jason Aldean, Jimmy Buffett, Kenny Chesney, Billy Currington, Little Big Town, Tim McGraw, Willie Nelson, Jennifer Nettles, Rascal Flatts, Kenny Rogers, Darius Rucker, Blake Shelton and Shania Twain.

R&B star John Legend has stepped in to replace Lionel Richie as a TV judge on a new reality show.

The veteran "Hello" hitmaker signed on to front Duets with former American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson, soul star Robin Thicke and country singer Jennifer Nettles in March, but Richie has since had to pull out of the project due to scheduling conflicts, according to GossipCop.com.

TV bosses then turned to Legend to fill Richie's shoes and his addition to the program's judging panel was announced on Monday.

Lionel Richie has the best-selling album in the nation for the second consecutive week with Tuskegee, his country duets project that has once again claimed the No. 1 spot on the overall Billboard Top 200 albums chart. Tuskegee also sits at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Albums chart for the third week.

Lionel Richie is in debt to the United States - he owes over 1 million dollars to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Most of the debt was incurred due to unpaid income taxes from 2010, according to documents E! News recieved.

Soul man Lionel Richie will promote his new country album during a concert on a TV shopping network.

The "Hello" hitmaker will launch the Home Shopping Network's live concert series on 16 March with songs from his "Tuskegee" album. Reports suggest Kenny Rogers will join him for a rendition of their classic tune "Lady".
