Cliff Richard to release 100th album

Veteran British star Sir Cliff Richard has ruled out retirement after unveiling plans to release his 100th album.

The 72-year-old Living Doll singer will hit the milestone in November (13) when he puts out The Fabulous Rock 'n' Roll Songbook - 54 years after his 1959 debut Cliff.

He says, "It's always exciting and inspiring to be in a recording studio and I think there is much more to come from me over the next few years - I'm definitely not ready to retire yet. I had so much fun making this album. Singing and performing rock 'n' roll is just so invigorating."

Veteran British singer Cliff Richard is eyeing an odd collaboration - he wants to team up with R&B star Rihanna.

The "Summer Holiday" hitmaker, who has previously sung with Elton John, is a fan of the "Umbrella" singer and is keen to collaborate with her.

He tells the Press Association, "Somebody asked me if I'd like to sing with Rihanna and I thought, 'Who wouldn't?' She looks fantastic, she's got a great voice, but in the case of duets, if it's feasible, it's always a matter of what the song is.

Motorhead's Lemmy Launches His Own Wine

Motorhead rocker Lemmy has become the latest star to turn his attentions to wine-making - he's launched his own Shiraz.

The heavy metal musician piloted the beverage in Sweden last year, selling 120,000 bottles of the alcohol - and now he's set to sell it in the U.K.

Lemmy says the wine has been "hitting Scandinavia like a Lancaster bomber," but warns his fans: "Approach it with caution. I mean, wine is deceptive, anything could happen."

Ewen Cameron, from Great Wine Online, which will be selling the Shiraz in Britain, adds, "Just like Lemmy, it can survive just about anything."


ABBA's Bjorn Ulvaeus Thrilled By New Copyright Law Passed By European Union

ABBA star Bjorn Ulvaeus was thrilled by a new ruling by the European Union that will see the copyright on sound recordings extended from 50 to 70 years.

"Now I won't have to see ABBA being used in a TV commercial," he says.

The ruling was the result of a proposal from British singer Cliff Richard, who proposed to give composers an extra 25 years to benefit from their creations. On Monday, members of the European Union Council voted in favor of the "Saviour's Day" singer's proposal; however instead of 25 years they extended the copyright on sound recordings by 20 years.

Rockers Oasis have been accused of ripping off a Cliff Richard hit with their new single "The Turning." Oasis posted the track on their page on Thursday, but the song has received harsh criticism from fans of aging crooner Richard— who claim the tune bears an uncanny resemblance his 1976 hit, "Devil Woman."

Writing on Richard's official site, one user by the name of Rolybunny, says, "This is a rip-off. What'll they do next? Remix Mistletoe and Wine?"

British singer Cliff Richard has developed his own domain name, allowing fans to send e-mails from personalized Cliff addresses. The veteran crooner's website, MyCliff, took over a year to develop and boasts more e-mail features like webmail, bigger storage and spam protection.

It means fans of the Wired For Sound star can use his name or song titles as part of their email address.

Queen guitar legend Brian May and veteran British pop star Cliff Richard have joined forces in the studio to rework the knighted singer's hit "Move It".

Richard was keen to give the song a rockier edge, and he immediately plumped for the Bohemian Rhapsody rocker's distinctive sound.
