Celebrities That Turn 50 In 2015

Celebrities That Turn 50 In 2015
Simple mathematics indicate that 50 years ago would make it the year of 1965. That year was a unique and troublesome time in the world as the Vietnam war really began to escalate - as well as the civil rights movement. The Counter culture began to awake as skirts got much shorter and men started to grow their hair a bit longer.

Gas was a mere 31 cents per gallon and the average rent was $118 per month.

In pop culture “The Sound of Music” was released, the Beatles played their famous live concert at Shea Stadium and the Grateful Dead played their first concert in San Francisco – just to na...

Trent Reznor Furious With Grammys For Playing Ads Over His Performance

1/27/2014 12:03pm EST
Trent Reznor
Trent Reznor had some choice words for the producers of the Grammys after his show-closing performance was obscured by a pair of advertisements.

By the time Reznor, Josh Homme, Dave Grohl, and Lindsey Buckingham took the stage, the Grammys were running a bit long. The group of rock superstars got through all of Nine Inch Nails' "Copy of A" and began rocking out to Queens of the Stone Age's "My God is the Sun."

Apparently someone got the idea to show advertisements for the award show's official hotel and airline during the second song, and Reznor wasn't exactly thrilled with it.

Trent Reznor
Last Saturday, Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor reached out to a cancer-stricken fan during a recent performance by video-chatting with him during the concert.

The 48 year-old rocker took the stage in Las Vegas, and made a special call to fan and concert photographer Andrew Youssef, who is battling colon cancer.

Youssef was told by doctors in September that he only had a few months to live and he was too sick to attend the show.

Reznor, who had struck up a friendship with Youssef through Twitter hit the website  just before the concert and wrote a special message to his dedicated fa...

The rocker is working with rapper Dr. Dre to create the new platform, which will offer users track suggestions based on listeners' recommendations instead of computerized choices.

Reznor tells The New Yorker, "There's a real value in trusted filters. It's like having your own guy when you go into the record store, who knows what you like but can also point you down some paths you wouldn't necessarily have encountered."

Comparing Daisy to its rival Spotify, which has 20 million customers around ...

Trent Reznor
Nine Inch Nails rocker Trent Reznor has urged his fans to boycott a new release of the group's 1989 album because it's a "waste" of money.

Bosses at a Universal Music subsidiary decided to re-release the band's hit record Pretty Hate Machine without any re-mastering to digitally improve the sound quality of the original.

The move has angered the guitarist and he has warned fans to avoid the tricky marketing ploy and save their cash.

Taking to his page, he writes, "NIN fans, don't waste your money on this version of PHM that was just released... a record label bulls**t move...

Love was in the air in July as a host of celebrities walked down the aisle - Spanish stars Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem tied the knot in the Bahamas, while Emily Blunt became Mrs. John Krasinski after marrying The Office star in romantic Como, Italy.

A pregnant Alicia Keys said 'I do' to Swizz Beatz, while Orlando Bloom and Australian model Miranda Kerr became husband and wife in a secret ceremony. Wedding bells also rang in Georgia as country sweetheart Carrie Underwood married her hockey hunk, Mike Fisher.

But there was also plenty of heartache in Hollywood - Kelly Osbourne called of...

'The Social Network' Lets You Decide For Yourself

10/1/2010 7:30am EDT
Social Network
Unreliable narrators in films are fascinating because they leave you wondering whether anything that you are seeing is real. The reason why audiences are captivated with yarns strung by characters like this, is that they allow the viewer to decide on his or her own where the truth exists in the story.

“The Social Network,” directed by David Fincher and written by Aaron Sorkin, uses a similar device. Except instead of one untrustworthy character, we are subject to three unreliable perspectives. Each one has their own idea about how the social networking website Facebook was founded. Wh...

Trent Reznor's Twisted Bender Of Creativity

6/16/2008 8:41am EDT
Trent Reznor
Considering most musicians in their 40s tend to slow things down, Trent Reznor has been a busy boy. Coming from the man who once spent five years to release a follow-up album (the highly ambitious/anticipated double-disc mammoth The Fragile), and another six for its successor (2005's With Teeth), the last two years for his band Nine Inch Nails have been some of the most creative and innovative in its career.

Reznor's recent creative spur all started on the tour for NIN's fifth studio album, the rather uninspired "With Teeth." Desiring to record a bleak futuristic concept album to shed ...

11/21/2007 12:44pm EST
Saul Williams
Saul Williams's The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of Niggy Tardust is all about, "Transcending those labels, borders, and boundaries that pigeonhole us." Saul manages to do this not just in the album's concept or its genre defying sound, but by releasing the album straight to the public for either the low price of five dollars or for free. In this Starpulse Q and A, Williams elucidates the album's deeper meaning and reveals that Niggy's got more in common with Parliament's Starchild than Bowie's starman, a truly funky development.

How do you feel about people's reaction and receptio...

As Hollywood writers pool their efforts around a collective strike, The Los Angeles Times recently reported that online distribution and ad dollars are major negotiation selling points in the digital age.
