Adele's 'Rolling In The Deep' Named Song Of The Year

Adele's break-up anthem "Rolling In The Deep" has topped another major end-of-year music poll as 2011's best song.

Spin magazine editors have given the tune the edge over Beyonce's "Countdown" and "California" by EMA.

The Rapture's "How Deep is Your Love" and "Novacaine" by Frank Ocean complete Spin's top five tracks.

Adele's "Rolling in the Deep" recently picked up Best Single honors from Rolling Stone magazine.

Meanwhile, Canadian punk act F**ked Up have claimed the music publication's "Album of the Year" prize for "David Comes to Life."

U2's Manager Hurt In Horse Fall

Irish rockers U2's longtime manager Paul McGuiness narrowly escaped paralysis recently after he was involved in a horrific horse riding accident. The music mogul, who also manages the careers of singer PJ Harvey and New York rockers The Rapture, had to be taken to hospital after being thrown from a horse while riding near his estate in County Wicklow, Ireland.

A source tells Ireland's Sunday World newspaper, "It was a pretty bad fall and Paul broke his collarbone. He was rushed to hospital and was in absolute agony. He's still getting over it and knows he has had a lucky escape."

A surprise appearance by Pearl Jam legend Eddie Vedder kicked off the Lollapalooza music festival on Friday when he appeared on stage with Ben Harper at Chicago's Grant Park.

Cult Bands Perform For An Independent Radio Station

Cult acts Sonic Youth, Grizzly Bear and El-P are the latest musicians to play concerts in support of independent radio stations in America. Sonic Youth will play their Free Yr Radio tour date in a branch of retail store Urban Outfitters in Santa Monica, California on July 21st to raise funds for nearby radio station KXLU.

Grizzly Bear will perform in another Urban Outfitters branch in Cleveland, Ohio on July 12th to benefit WBWC, while rapper El-P will play the chain's Avenue Of The Americas store in New York City on July 14thfor WNHU.
